Striking Camp

The Autumn winds and wets are blowing in, and we can't stay in our camp safely or comfortably any more. Cottage #1 is not yet ready for comfortable or sane occupation. Our plan is to return home to England for the Winter, making regular weekend trips to France to blitz specific jobs, and then to pick up where we left off in France as the first Spring blossoms appear...

The gazebo will not be able to provide any further shelter. Look at its poor broken limbs! Its endurance through many a storm, however, is to be commended. Gazebo down.

Polly is feeling very wary and puzzled... Not sure where to go, she decides on the now redundant gazebo bag.

Ground sheets pinned out to clean and dry. This is an impossible task, a ridiculous hope. While I'm washing one side on the already muddy terrain, the reverse side is gathering new dirt and damp. We opted for the 'one side dirty' storage technique, as one side will always have to make the dirty sacrifice when in use.

We've left an ugly scar on our 'lawns'. But they'll heal over the winter, and present us with verdant perfection in the Spring! (Fingers crossed...  O__o)

  1. This is a little like when your favourite TV program comes to the last episode - and now you have to wait until the next season starts.

  2. Now THAT is a lovely thing to say! Thank you. :) (Also, you'd be surprised how much more I can say without actually being there!)
