A tonne of sand?

It was all very well buying a 'big bag' of sand at Brico Depot, where a nice man with a fork lift truck deposits it on your trailer. Removing the bag at the other end proved challenging. Kevin and I had a go at shifting it with our combined strength (don't laugh). Unbelievably, it didn't move! There, can you see, next to the bag of sand are two 35 kg bags of lime? We can move them. I don't know how much the big bag of sand weighs... there was a rumour that it was a tonne, which is 1000 kg. But it doesn't look like 29 times a bag of lime, does it? Anyway, it proved to be the immovable object for a while. All we needed was an unstoppable force. The required force began with Kevin's brain and the piggery... and a piece of nylon rope that kept snapping.

At first, Kevin's brain told him to tie the nylon rope around the wobbly and decrepit door post of the piggery. I stood well back. The plan was to slowly drive away.

The bag of sand didn't move, but the door post did a bit.

Looping the rope through a piggery window and out of the door, Kevin tried again.

The bag moved in an unacceptable way, threatening to spill its contents. Kevin transferred the rope to a nearby beam sticking out of the pottery.

I suggested jacking up the trailer at the front, opening the end flap, and letting gravity help a bit. That worked, but the bag was still rather topply.

So we towed it to centre it...

To save bees and other insects (and petrol), we've decided to let two more of our fields become meadows, namely, the car park field and the top field. The two large bottom fields are already growing wild, waiting for Farmer Joel to harvest the grass to make hay bales. I've cut a curving path through the top field to allow easy passage to the hammock and the caravan.

There's the car park field, through there- it's actually a carpet of wild mint, which offers an amazing aromatherapy experience when walking through it. You could roll in it for optimum benefits.

We've had a bit of rain...

Peaches beginning!
Back at work, the guest bedroom is our current prison... We are (yes, seriously) attempting to complete it by the end of the week. Gotta go!
