Euro 2016 (the football, in case you were worried that it might be about Brexit, not that the England football team is without its difficulties...)

We ventured out to the Cafe le Richelieu in Tulle again to watch the match between Portugal and Wales. We were supporting Wales, and, as before when watching England's performance against Iceland, 'our team' lost. But in very different ways, of course. The Welsh team, heavily populated by players from Crystal Palace, showed great skill and sportsmanship. As before, the staff and customers demonstrated their sympathies, but when Kevin suggested that he return the next day to support France when they play Germany, there was sudden loud resistance. The bar man decreed that Kevin was unlucky, and if he had to come (but please don't), he must support Germany. We didn't go. We wanted to be kind.

Tonight, the match is being shown on the big screen in the cathedral square. Tullistes are very excited, because Laurent Koscielny is a local lad... who plays for Arsenal, incidentally! We'll have to keep a low profile, as we're supporting France...

Here he is in the window of the barber shop opposite the cathedral.
